"Beyond the Realm of Conscience" Promotional Event
Michelle Yim Tips Sheren Tang to be 'TV Queen'
Michelle Yim says that the head ornaments in this series are extremely heavy, and says this is her most labourious series she has filmed to date. As for "Beyond" and "Born Rich" being premiered on the same day, Michelle expresses, "They are both individually good! "Born Rich" have my good friends such as Jamie Chik in there!" When asked if she is confident to break "Moonlight Resonance's" 50 points, she laughs, "I have used a lot of heart to film this series. I read my lines until the early morning, so I hope this one will exceed the previous one." As the previous winner was asked for her thoughts on 'TV Queen', Michelle expresses, "One year is enough for me. I tip Tavia and Charmaine, but if I am to pick, I will pick Sheren Tang. In recent years, she had used a lot of heart and effort. Three of them are extremely close!"
Tavia Yeung Afraid that Evil Character will be Difficult to Accept
The entire cast of "Beyond the Realm of Conscience" held a promotional event at Olympian City today. As for many people supporting/tipping Tavia Yeung to win "TV Queen" ('Best Actress'), Tavia says, "I'm tipping Michelle Yim and Charmaine Sheh! The series has not aired yet, so it is too early to tell. I feel relieved when everyone is tipping me, but I am very evil in the series. I don't know if the audience will like me because I haven't played this kind of character before!" When asked about Charmaine and Kevin Cheng being the main focus of attention and snatching the limelight, Tavia laughs, "I don't think it's a big deal! I hope "Beyond" will reach new heights. I really want to carry Moses Chan because I know that he has lost weight. If I were to carry him before, he will crush me to death. Next time, Charmaine should carry Moses, and I will carry Kevin!" When asked about "Beyond" being compared to "Born Rich", Tavia says, "The genres for both series are different. I have confidence [in "Beyond"] because we have beautiful people and beautiful scenery". (But "Born Rich" has a 'Movie Queen') "We have 'TV Kings' and 'TV Queens'!"
Ancient drama had an event yesterday at Olympian City, one of the female leads Michelle Yim said that she has confidence for the series, and is very happy that both ancient and modern series are broadcasting. Asked if she has confidence to win TV Queen? Michelle said: "Thank you. I already had my year, besides supporting Tavia Yeung and Charmaine Sheh from , I also really support Sheren Tang. If I really had to choose, I would choose Sheren, she has really worked hard in the recent years. Of course the other two did as well, but these three are going neck to neck."
BEYOND THE REALM OF CONSCIENCE Premiering 19th October - 29th November Mon-Fri, 8.30pm 宫心计
Imperial Household Bureau is responsible for managing and directing all household services to the Emperor and the Imperial family in Tong Dynasty. It is comprised of four departments, namely Jewels, Attire, Food and Furnishings. LAU SAM HO (Charmaine Sheh) and YIU KAM LING (Tavia Yeung) are introduced into the bureau in their tender age and brought up in the disciplines of the palace. The two girls are diligent. YUEN TSUI WAN (Susanna Kwan), Head of the Jewels, and CHUNG SUET HA (Michelle Yim), Head of the Attire, are both very fond of HO for she is a kind-hearted young girl. Soon, they start fighting for the fellowship of HO.
HO always remembers her mother's words left to her before she passed away, that she was told, 'Doing good deeds, Speaking good words, Showing goodwill'. She lives her life of being gracious and kind-hearted in the palace. On the other hand, LING believes her survival in palace is achieved through cruel and calculating tactics. She cheats and schemes her way to the top and finally becomes the concubine. Though she realizes that HO has fallen in love with the chess master KO HIN YEUNG (Kevin Cheng), her jealousy still arouses by HO's attraction to the Emperor LEE YI (Moses Chan). Fearing that she is losing power, she ruthlessly makes up a false allegation against HO for murdering the Empress (Mary Hon) and condemns her to death. No matter how clever she is to scheme, things do not go the way she planned. By using a strong comparison of the two distinctive characters, HO and LING, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory.
